Crochet Wrap and wide scarf for Fall

It has been a while since I designed a wrap/scarf and I am excited to finally use Color Theory Yarn. I Figured this color palette would be perfect for late summer and Fall accessory. The yarn is very soft and squishy. I love it.

There is nothing greater than designing something versatile and easy. With this scarf/wrap you get to Play with colour to create a perfect accent for any outfit in your wardrobe. Let’s be honest, if you look through your closet, there is that one colour you always gravitate towards, it could be shades of blues, pinks, anything really. This is your opportunity to go through your clothes, choose your yarn colors based on that so that it goes with most of the stuff you already have.

I wanted to play around with these colours together and love the combo. This is my first time using this yarn and I am not disappointed.

The stitch for this wrap is very simple. It is a perfect beginner project since it does not require any shaping nor short rows, I have actually designed a top with it in the summer. check out Ava Top here

The plan is to design a collection of different patterns using this stitch, hint hint!

It uses half double crochet stitch throughout. The first and last stitches are worked as normal and the rest of the stitches are worked by alternating inserting the hook in the back and front loop respectively. The alternating stiches are what you see as unique texture and it add sophistication to the wrap.

I played with colours by mixing the colors and to create a contract and also showcasing how well the they blend together. We all know how quickly temperature can drop, so Ava Wrap provides a cozy layer around your shoulders for those nippy evening stroll or wrapped around your neck like a scarf and tuck it under your coat, she is here to offer warmth this fall and early spring.

ADDING FRINGE

1.Wrap all yarn colors around a book: this depends on how long the fringe will be. The book I used is 6” long

2.Cut the strips on one end of the book.

3. Fold the strips in half. Have at least one of each color or one color depending on your preference

4. Insert hook on every other stitch on the edge of the shawl. Pull the strips back through and hook the yarn at the middle.

5.Pull through and get the loop with index and thumb. Reach through the loop, grab the tail and pull until the knot is snug.

6. Lay the wrap down and cut end to make the fringes the same length.
