Crochet top pattern, Rose Summer Tee pattern

ABOUT

Rose top was inspired by my home country Botswana which is hot seventy percent of the time in a year. The idea came to me when it was 30 degrees Celsius below here and I got home sick, which happens every time we get the first cold snap of the year. I longed for lacy, light top that I can be wear with bralette or spaghetti strap top under instead of 4 layers of clothing. I initially named it Bots tee and chose to go with Rose. I had a sketch of two identical panels at the beginning and later decided to go with deep neckline to give summer vibe and airy feel to the top.

Shoulders

Put a stitch marker to hold the 2 panels together.

Cut 60’’ yarn and join both panels from the marker. Using a yarn needle, seam both sides downwards using the method you like. You can seam all the way down or leave a few rows to split.

Fasten off and repeat on the other side.

EDGING

Note: edging stitches are worked with the right side of the garment facing you

Neck line

Choose what will be the right side and join yarn with sl st on the back panel.  Ch 1 and work sc on every stitch and 2 sc along dc/ch 3 on the edges, until you reach the end of the round. Join with sl st to the first st, fasten off and cut yarn.

Arm hole Edging

Join yarn on the right side from the arm hole, ch 1 and 2 sc evenly on each st until you reach the end, join with sl st. Fasten off, cut yarn and repeat on the other side.

Bottom Edge

Join yarn on the right side at the bottom of 1 panel, ch 1 and work sc in each st and across. If you split your tee fasten off and repeat on the other panel, otherwise continue all the way around. Join with sl st on the first sc.
